New version provides a new user interface native to iOS or Android for users to have more robust interactions in real time; a leaderboard with the top 100 users; a news feed with favorite broadcasters; and an algorithm to show trending videos
(www.streamago.com) has launched a new version of its live video interactions app, rolling out numerous new features for its 1.5 million registered users, one million monthly active users and 200,000 daily active users who are creating and interacting through 150,000 live videos per day.
Streamago has been steadily adding committed and highly active users since its launch in February. Users spend an average of six minutes using Streamago through seven visits per day, usage numbers close to Instagram and exceeding those of Pinterest and Twitter.
The new version provides a new user interface native to iOS or Android for users to have more robust interactions in real time; a leaderboard with the top 100 users; a news feed with favorite broadcasters; and an algorithm to show trending videos. As before, users can share links on virtually any social media or messaging platform.
Unlike Facebook Live’s content focus, Streamago is focusing on in-the-moment interactions, said co-founder and CEO Daniele Calabrese. “We provide a new way for mobile users to interact spontaneously together using live streams, instead of just texting or talking on the phone,” he said. “We are not focusing on being a content platform for brands and celebrities.”
With its focus on having fun through live video interactions, Streamago has even introduced a custom built robot (https://www.facebook.com/streamago/videos/1035867826498263/) for users to interact with.
Users are primarily young, with dense social networks that have propelled the app’s organic growth. Over 90% of Streamago users have over 100 social media friends and followers, while over 50% have more than 500 social connections. Also, 90% of users are between 13-28 years old – millennials and their younger Generation Z counterparts.
